GENERAL DETAILS of the PROJECT

WHEAT PRECISION FARMING

The project “Wheat precision farming in Thessaly” is a pilot project of regional scope financed by the EUROPEAN AGRICULTURAL FUND FOR RURAL DEVELOPMENT (State Aid Status CAN. 1305/2013, Article 35) and is implemented within the framework of the Operational Program for Rural Development of Greece PAA 2014-2020 and in particular in under Measure 16, Sub-Measure 16.1-16.5, Cooperation on environmental projects, environmental practices and climate change actions.

WP 1:

Project coordination and management

WP 2:

Selection and development of pilot wheat fields based on specific criteria.

WP 3:

Processing of near real time data (satellite images, UAV), application of variable rate N fertilization, and harvesting of pilot fields.

WP4:

Soil, plant tissue sampling and laboratory analyses

WP5:

Evaluation of variable rate N fertilization in economic, agronomic and environmental terms for climate change mitigation.

WP6:

Networking, dissemination and communicative management of project results.

Budget: 148.297,13 €
